ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE — A broad coalition of registered political parties in Ogun State has announced a major cross-party mobilisation in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 General Election.

The movement, which is being led by its National Coordinator , Comrade Sunday Olaposi Oginni, brings together political stakeholders and supporters from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP),APGA, Accord and Boot Party in a united campaign for the consolidation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The coalition said the initiative is designed to demonstrate that political differences and party affiliations should not constitute barriers to cooperation when the broader interests of Nigeria are at stake.

AKÉ PALACE TO HOST HISTORIC POLITICAL GATHERING on 10/9/26

The historic mobilisation will take place at the Aké Palace, 10/9/26  Abeokuta, Ogun State, where political leaders, stakeholders and supporters from across the state are expected to converge for the major political gathering.

The choice of Aké Palace, situated in the historic capital of Ogun State, is expected to add significance to the event as political actors from different ideological and party backgrounds come together under one platform to express support for President Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid.

The event is expected to attract party leaders, governorship Aspirants and Candidates, Political stakeholders, Youth and women groups, Professionals, Entrepreneurs, Community leaders, Grassroots mobilisers and supporters from 236 wards of  Ogun State.

GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANTS AND CANDIDATES TO ATTEND

A major highlight of the gathering will be the expected presence of the governorship candidates of the participating political parties.

The governorship candidates of the NNPP, APC, PDP, LP, APGA Accord and Boot Party are expected to attend the event and publicly lend their support to the coalition's call for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The coalition believes that the participation of the various governorship candidates will send a powerful message that while political parties may compete against one another for the governorship of Ogun State, they can nevertheless cooperate on issues concerning the political and economic future of Nigeria.

OLAPOSI OGINNI : A MOVEMENT BEYOND PARTY LINES

Under the leadership of Comrade Olaposi Oginni, the movement says it is determined to build a broad-based political platform capable of mobilising Nigerians beyond traditional partisan boundaries.

The National Coordinator is expected to lead the coalition's engagement with political stakeholders, grassroots organisations and supporters across Ogun State as the movement intensifies its mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The coalition said its objective is not to erase the identities or political structures of the participating parties, but to establish a common ground on which members can collectively support the continuation and consolidation of the Renewed Hope Agenda with equity and justice.

According to the coalition, the 2027 presidential election provides Nigerians with an opportunity to decide whether the ongoing reforms and programmes of the Tinubu administration should be sustained and further consolidated.

The coalition said reforms in areas including the economy, infrastructure, employment, investment, social development and institutional strengthening require continuity, consistency and sufficient time to deliver sustainable results.

Speaking on the rationale behind the mobilisation, the coalition said: «“This is bigger than political parties. It is about Nigeria and the future we want to build. We may belong to different political platforms, but we can unite when the interest of Nigeria demands it.”»

The group further stated: «“The Renewed Hope Agenda must be given the opportunity to mature. Continuity in governance is essential if ongoing reforms and development programmes are to produce sustainable results.”»

GRASSROOTS MOBILISATION ACROSS OGUN

The coalition said the Aké Palace gathering will serve as a launchpad for wider political engagement and grassroots mobilisation across Ogun State.

It disclosed that its mobilisation strategy will extend to wards, local government areas and communities, with the objective of bringing the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda closer to ordinary Nigerians.

The coalition particularly called on young people, women, workers, entrepreneurs, professionals, farmers, community leaders and grassroots stakeholders to actively participate in the democratic process and make their voices and votes count in the 2027 General Election.

POLITICAL DIFFERENCES, NATIONAL UNITY

The organisers stressed that the coalition does not require participating parties to surrender their individual identities, ideologies or political structures.

Rather, they said, the movement is founded on a shared conviction that political cooperation is possible even among parties that may have different candidates and competing interests at the state level.

The coalition therefore appealed to members and supporters of all participating parties to maintain peace, tolerance, mutual respect and democratic values throughout the 2027 electoral cycle.

It maintained that political competition should be based on ideas, policies and programmes and should never become an excuse for violence, hatred or division.

“2027 SHOULD BE ABOUT NIGERIA”

The coalition maintained that the 2027 General Election should be about the collective future of Nigeria and the kind of country Nigerians desire for future generations.

According to the group, issues of economic stability, infrastructure, job creation, investment, social development, national unity and institutional reform should remain central to the political conversation.

It therefore urged Nigerians to look beyond party affiliations and consider what it described as the collective national interest and the consolidation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

With the participation of the NNPP, APC, PDP, LP, APGA ,Accord and Boot Party, the leadership of National Coordinator Comrade Olaposi Oginni, and the expected attendance of the respective governorship candidates, the Aké Palace gathering in Abeokuta is expected to become a significant demonstration of cross-party political cooperation in Ogun State.

The coalition called on supporters and well-meaning Nigerians across the state to join the historic mobilisation as it seeks to build a broad political movement in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 re-election and the consolidation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
