Lagos Is Leapfrogging, Ogun Must Accelerate, by Otunba Segun Showunmi
Oh Thou who aligns the stars in their courses and sets the heavens in perfect order, help align Ogun.
Lagos is leapfrogging, and Ogun cannot afford to be crawling.
As I reflect on the conversations, commitments, and confidence emanating from Invest Lagos 3.0, one truth becomes even clearer: the future belongs to those who move with urgency, clarity, and purpose. Lagos is doing exactly that. It is pressing forward, attracting capital, deepening confidence, removing barriers, and deliberately positioning itself as a destination of choice for investment and enterprise.
This should be both inspiration and challenge for Ogun State.
The present Governor has done his bit. He has steadied the ship, confronted difficult realities, and laid foundations upon which progress can stand. History will record his contribution. Yet governance is a relay, not a solo race. The baton must now pass to a future prepared to move speedily, intelligently, and sustainably.
Ogun possesses every ingredient required for greatness: strategic location, industrious people, vast land, proximity to markets, and immense potential. What remains is the alignment of vision, execution, and political will.
The future cannot wait.
For if Lagos is accelerating into tomorrow, Ogun must not be content merely watching from the sidelines. It must rise, compete, complement, and create its own compelling story of growth and prosperity.
May wisdom guide those who lead. May courage accompany those who dream. And may Ogun find its rhythm with the times, so that it not only keeps pace with progress but becomes a powerful force in shaping it.
The stars are aligned. The moment is here. Ogun must move.
