TPL Rotimi Babajide Declares For Ogun Governor Under APM.

Ogun State Allied People's Movement (APM) was in joyful moment today Wednesday 6th May 2026 as TPL Rotimi Mathew Babajide Declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State under grassroots and People's Party the Allied People's Movement (APM).

TPL Babjide said that he was presenting himself for service to the people,  judging by his experience and the desire to promote good governance and improved welfare for the good people of Ogun State. 

"I have come into this race and I am going to contest because I believe I have the best credentials like others to rule Ogun State for the next four years starting in 2027 and I believe I probably understand the people and the place called Ogun because I have been here longer than my any contestant",

"My mission and vision is to make Ogun State the leading in industrial, educational, and agricultural hub in Ogun State where every citizen has access to opportunity, safety and a high quality of life and to deliver transparent, people-centred governance that created jobs, Strengthens infrastructure,  and empowers communities across all the local government", he said.

He also said he is taking up the leadership challenge because the Ogun State of our forefathers like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief MKO Abiola, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Professor Wole Soyinka, and many others should not be allowed to be taken over by political invaders. This is "OGUN STATE"!!!. We have roots, we have history and we should be very resolute in a time like this not to allow second colonization. 

He then promised to lead with integrity, act with urgency, and deliver measurable results and every policy will be guided by one principle. 

In his shot welcome Address, the Chairman Allied People's Movement APM Ogun State Chapter,  Comrade Dr. Abayomi Sanyaolu said Ogun State is all political party state and he believes in grassroots politics, and the door is open for every sons and daughters of Ogun State to  join hands together with party to rescue Ogun State from political distraction and avoidable jeopardy. 

"In the next few days of the widows of political alignment and realignments will be welcome to APM, we shall win to make Ogun first, all the time and everytime", Sanyaolu Said
