Form a Coalition to Challenge APC's Coronation, Showunmi Urges Political Leaders

The Convener of the non political organisation movement, the Alternative, Otunba Segun Showunmi has urged leaders of political parties in Ogun Ogun State to form a coalition to challenge APC coronation both in the state and the national level.

Otunba Segun Showunmi disclosed this on Friday 17th April 2027 followed his consultations with Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) Executives in Abeokuta to declare his intention to contest for ogun governorship seat in 2027,

He said, this is not about ambition alone, it is about responsibility, it is about service, it is about the future and prosperity of the good people of Ogun State. My journey in public service has never been about titles but an unrepentant quest for impact and and progress.

He also criticised the All Progressives Congress APC Consensus arrangement in Ogun State as failure, describing it as APC Coronation.

"As today, as the Convener of the Alternative, I have continued to raise my voice, not for myself, but for our people. And your servant, your friend, your brother, your son and loyalist, Anthony Oluwasegun Showunmi is not perfect, but proven accountable at all times, and I will continue to be the same person you have always known" 

"I came here today to appeal with you to form a formidable committee and determine how to collaborate and make things happen. Form a small committee and look at all the parties and choose a platform we can fly with in governance in Ogun State. Governance is not about sharing rice or money, but about good leadership," said Showunmi.

Earlier in his welcome Address, the Chairman Inter-Party Advisory Committee IPAC Ogun State Chapter, Comrade Abayomi Sanyaolu said Otunba Segun Showunmi is well known to everyone and he Otunba Segun Showunmi is the person people can run to if elected as the governor of this great State.

Comrade Sanyaolu them appel to the Chairmen of the political parties to exercise caution in dealing with any aspirants, saying that consequences can backfire later.
