RATTAFEST; OGUN RATTAWU CHAIRMAN WANTS COLLABORATION WITH STATE GOVT.



The Chairman, Radio, Television Theatre and Arts Workers Union, RATTAWU, Ogun State Council, Comrade Idowu Rotimi Akintade

has identified culture and traditions as a weapon that people can use to fight ignorance, unemployment and poverty in the Society.



Comrade Idowu gave the indication at the closing ceremony of a two-day programme tagged "RATTAFEST", organized by MCT Chapter of RATTAWU in collaboration with the Ogun State  Council of the Union and the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism , held at June 12 Cultural Center Kuto Abeokuta.



The RATTAWU Chairman emphasised that people could harness every potential abound in culture, traditions and tourism to promote socio-economic development of the Country, through the social media.



While expressing the readiness of RATTAWU to partner the State government  in ensuring that her programmes, particularly the socio-cultural activities were spread across the urban and rural areas of the State, Comrade Idowu reminded the youth of the need to embrace and promote the Nation's cultural heritage at all times.



Speaking on the theme of the programme, Gateway: Creating Opportunities for the young ones, the Chairman of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Chapter of RATTAWU, Comrade Gbenga Fagbenro said the event was organized to expose youth to various cultural ways of life, which was fast going to extinction .



 The event attended by the Directors at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as well as thorough-bred media practitioners and other dignitaries, featured stage performances by the State Cultural troupe and invited Schools.


Also, Merit Awards were presented to distinguished guests, including the popular Radio and Television presenter, Mr Wole Dosunmu.
