Hon. Akinlabi Extends Eid al Adha Greetings To Muslims.

The Chairman Police Community Relations Committee PCRC Adatan Royal Area Command, has commended Muslims on the celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha, the Muslim Festival of Sacrifice.

Akinlabi in a statement signed and made available in Abeokuta,  noted that the occasion was devoted to sacrifices and prayers for peace and forgiveness.

"It’s yet another year as our Muslim brothers and sisters recognize and celebrate one of the biggest festivals of the Islamic faith and as Muslims in Nigeria and around the world celebrate the ‘Feast of Sacrifice’ Eid-Ul-Adha today, I and the leadership of (PCRC) in Adatan Royal Area Command would like to wish all Muslims very best of this momentous and joyous occasion, which marks an important milestone in the Islamic fate. otherwise known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is the Muslim festival that marks the culmination of the annual pilgrimage to the holy land of Mecca and the famous sacrifice of Prophet Abraham. Today is therefore not just a day for merrymaking and celebration, as we often see, but more importantly, a day for Muslims to reflect on their sacrifices, first of all, to their Maker, fellow humans, and society at large".

He said the festival of Eid ul-Adha reminds Muslims of the need to remain steadfast even in times of very serious challenges and the complexities of life with the hope that Allah will surely remain with us and lead us out of our difficulties into much better times as a result of our faith in his goodness. As a reflection of your unconditional trust in Allah, Eid ul Adha also reminds us that sacrifice and difficulties are a test of one’s faith and principles and impart lessons of courage for the believer to be more accepting of Allah’s will as He knows best.

It is my prayer to Allah almighty that all Muslims are blessed bountifully for their commitment, prayers, and sacrifices. I also pray that Allah grants a speedy recovery to the sick and relief to those in dire times as you [Muslims] mark this festive occasion.

Again, as much as I acknowledge the fact that there is every reason for Muslims to celebrate this day, even with pomp and pageantry, I also admonish you all, especially the youth, to be cautious of excessive celebration, which may occasion some unpleasant spectacles. I am appealing for moderation and circumspection in the celebration.

Once again, I wish all Muslims a happy Eid al-Adha celebration and also call on them to use this solemn occasion to pray for our desr nation, Nigeria.
