Ogun PCRC Sends Forth CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun, Installs Bode Mustapha As Grand Patron.

 


............. While Award of Recognitions Goes to the Gallant Police Officers in the State.


The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogun State command on Saturday sentforth the retired Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun in style.



The event which held at the Valley View Auditorium Government House Isale Igbein, Abeokuta also witnessed how CP Edward Ajogun was decorated as life Patron of Ogun PCRC and investiture of High Chief Bode Mustapha as the PCRC Grand Patron.



The PCRC State Chairman, High Chief Samson Kunle Popoola JP thanked the outgoing Commissioner of Police for his gallant achievements in the state, adding that his shoes may be difficult to fill.



Popoola further maintained that “when a man is diligent at his work, he will dine with kings and not mere mortals. This is the case of CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun



“This program is to celebrate a man who has excel professionally, a community police per excellence, a man who is always ready to listen to you in order to perform your duties without any hindrance, and the man is CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun.



“Thank you for bringing the PCRC closer to the police in Ogun State. This is a testament that Nigerians are not antagonist of the police. It shows that once we are able to notice a good product, Nigerians will go all out to celebrate the product”.



The guest speaker and the recipient of the grand patron, High Chief Bode Mustapha who spoke on ‘Mid-wifing the police of our dreams in a democratic setting’, reteraites that the relationship between the police and the public has been stained of late, with increase in criminal activities across the country to accusations of fundamental rights abuses.



He however berates the low funding and staffing of the Nigerian Police, adding that the ratio of officers to citizens is 1:600, meaning that an officer is expected to police about 600 citizens. This, he said is a genuine argument which had it’s merits in the inefficient policing strategy.



He therefore stated that midwifing the police of Nigerian dreams should involve collaboration between the community leaders and the local leaders to ensure that local communities are effectively an extension of the Police.


“These communities can provide crucial information and intelligence to the police in their Investigations, and other assistance in helping reducing criminal behaviour”, he added


The event also witness award ceremony to deserving officers for their gallant contributes in securing the lives and properties of citizens of Ogun State during the course of CP Ajogun’s tenure as commissioner of Police in the command.


Dignitaries present at the event includes the National Vice chairman of PCRC, Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, the Commissioner of Police Ondo State Command CP Boloji Salami, S A to Ogun Governor on Security DIG Olusola Subar retired, PCRC Zone 2 Chairman, Alh. Balogun, PCRC Area Command Chairmen led by Hon Taiwo Akinlabi, the CEO Adron Homes and properties, Aare Adetola Emmanuel King, the Chairman Cocoa Farmers Association of Nigeria Ogun State Branch Chief Sesan Showunmi, Chief Olumide Aderinokun, the Executive Chairman Obafemi Owode local Government Chief Adesina Ogunsola,  Omoluabi Estate Chairman, Victor Mark, and Founder of Penpushing Media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji amongst others
