Lagos Tenancy Law: Banker drags Lawyer- Landlord to Disciplinary Committee.

.......... As Lagos Group vows to follow the matter to logical end.

A Lagos based banker, Miss Omolabake Olaitan Oyelami with phone

number:-(+234 8023862294), has dragged a Lagos Lawyer, Mr. Okwudili

Alagbu and landlord of a residential building located at N0. 30, S

close, 23-Road, Festac Town before the Legal Regulatory Disciplinary

Committee over misconduct which against the legal conduct of a legal

practitioner.

Miss. Omolabake Oyelami has alleged that Alagbu (+234 8023334432) along

with his wife, Celestial Chinelo Alagbu (+234 8036156039) and their

Children had nearly snuffed life from her, with no offence than being

their tenant and banker.

Meanwhile, Alagbu had earlier issued a six months quit notice dated

31st Day of October, 2020 to Oyelami and the notice would lapse by April

30th, 2021, but instead of Alagbu who claimed to be a legal

practitioner to wait till the lapse of the quit notice, he directed

his immediate family members including his wife and children to be

fermenting trouble with Oyelami so as to frustrate life out of her.

After the attack of December 25th, 2020 against her(Oyelami), she

reported Alagbus to the Festac Divisional Police Station where the

Divisional Police Officer (DPO) ordered for the immediate arrest of

Alagbu and his wife, Celestial Chinelo and the instruction were

carried out by Woman Inspector and Investigation Police Officer (IPO),

Caroline (+234 8030441834) which Alagbu and his wife have been on Police

bail since then after they have promised the Police that they would

not foment trouble with her again by waiting for the end of

April, 2021, where the purported quit notice would lapse.

They did not follow their earlier promised with the security agent and

started the trouble again with her on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th day

of April, 2021, three days for her to pack out of rented apartment in

their residential building which made Oyelami to report back to Festac

Divisional Police Station where officers at the Station including;

CRO, Olanloye Najeem, Abubakar and Woman Police Officer,Iniusa Rose

attended to her.

Although, a Lagos based group, Save Lagos Group (SLG) had come to the

aid of the innocent Lady by vowing to ensure justice on the matter,

saying that the group would write a petition to the appropriate and

concern authorities for notification and necessary action.

In a Petition Letter dated and signed by the Convener of the group,

Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman and forwarded to the Legal Practitioner

Regulatory Committee, President Nigeria Bar Association (NBA),

Inspector General of Police (IGP), National Human Rights Commission

(NHRC) and host of others for necessary action.

Comrade Sulaiman described the action of Alagbu as unlawful, illegal,

unconstitutional and undemocratic, which against the conduct of

genuine Legal Practitioners, adding Alagbus have vowed to go after the

life of innocent woman when she leaves their residential rented

apartment.

He therefore called on the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP)

and Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP) for immediate re-arrest

and possible prosecution of Alagbu and his wife, Celestial Chinelo

with their children in order to save the life of innocent Lady from

their hand, adding that if anything happens to Omolabake Oyelami, they

should be held responsible.

Signed:

Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman

Convener, Save Lagos Group (SLG)

  1. This is totally an act of mischief, the landlord and his family want to take advantage as a law practitioner over Omolabake being a lady. Thank God for her level of learnency and intervention of the human right.
