Ink On Paper 4:Nigeria A Progressing Nation With Dormant Leaders.

By Worldfamous Ajibola Olufidipo

The Ink on Paper 4 is coming a bit later due to my commitment to kingdom work at a community in Abeokuta, Ogun state. It is so disheartening to know that even within the capital city of Abeokuta, there still exists an Ago Ijesha with a high resemblance of rural community.

When I stepped in February, I was stunned to see that such a community exist, I could not see the hand of any government either state or local, as I rest back on the bench they gave me, I said to myself, these so-called political office holders are a bunch of failed individuals.

As I visited the place today with Last Episode Drama Ministry for evangelical outreach with a team of medical doctors to conduct free medical examinations which includes: High Blood Test, Sugar level, weight etc, I silently prayed for more intervention so that average individual can have a relief from a private body if the government entrusted with their mandates have failed them.

My focus is not about Ago Ijesha, but, the entity called Nigeria, as it was recorded in history that Nigeria was birth by the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorates, the land of great minds like Chief Nnamdi Azikwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sir Ahmadu Bello to mention a few.

We grew up to read of a country where students were catered for, employment was made ready before graduation, security of lives and properties were the topmost priorities on the government agenda.

Nigeria where education was at its enviable height, a country where our health sector was not inferior to what existed in the western world, a country where meals were being served in schools, scholarships were rewards of hard work and not for highest bidders.

The land in which fundamental human rights was an entitlement to all.

Nigeria was indeed a progressive nation, a nation with leaders with foresight, even though they had special preference for their ethnic group, yet they did not allow it to becloud their national engagement and responsibility, as they designed programmes for the emancipation of their region, it was done in the overall interest of the country.

What do we have in the era of these

un-progressive progressives, those who managed to pass secondary school examinations are the ones parading themselves as alpha and omega, individuals who are dormant to the point that they cannot put a meaningful and efficient strategy in place to move the nation forward.

They are so dormant that they cannot design a good economic roadmap, rather that formulating economic policies to give vitality to the nation economy that is in comatose, they are thinking of printing money, which is the highest level of mediocrity that should not be suggested by a primary school-leaver.

The most painful is that these idiots are so dumb and arrogant that they cannot ask few brilliant minds who are with them to give them a superlative advice, they leave us with the thought that they are all dullards, birds of the same feathers that perch together.

It was in this country that former governor of Lagos, Babatunde Raji Fashola promised us stable power supply after he described the Peoples Democratic Party administration a failure, apart from the fact that our predicament started from former Goodluck Jonathan's cluelessness, Mr Fashola and his cronies had plunged us into generational debt, the situation which will require another debt relief as the present leaders are so dormant to lead us out of the miry clay, a pit of despair.

The only time Nigerian leaders are showing expertise is when they are in the company of prostitutes, or when they are lavishing the common wealth of the people on material things.

We have exalted these crooks that they flaunt their ill-gotten wealth as if they are the inheritors of Solomon, one whose parent was a pauper in their lifetime, after being a Governor for 8 years used his state funds to build a prison he called a mansion.

Furthermore, these political hoodlums in the midst of civil unrest and terrorist attacks, they are busy running after 2023, people who are not sure of tomorrow and are so gullible to start playing God as if they own tomorrow.

Another behavioural patter that showed their dormancy is the support these crooks are giving to Pantami, there have been calls from different quarters that Pantami should be relieved of his position, till this moment, the President has not taken any drastic step to allay the fear of the people that members of the terrorist groups are not the one in charge of the country.

In the same vein, there are so many governors who believed that the whole essence of being the governor is to put on starched embroided agbada, some even thought they are doing us a favour, the best they have done ever since they assumed office is to hand over the state to political parasites who have been playing destructive roles.

How do we measure our progression as a nation, it is very simple, we are still having graduates being mobilized for the National Youths Service Corps, millions of youths are being released into labour markets yearly, without any programme or employment provision.

We need no statistician to evaluate the dormancy of our leaders, the best they have done in the last 5years is to organize a colloquium lecture instead of setting up an investigative committee to probe the illegal killings of the Youths. The most constant thing with this government is appointing their cronies to juicy positions without considering the lopsidedness of such appointments.

In Summary the best these dormant leaders can offer is what we are presently witnessing, they have exhausted their approaches, they have nothing new to offer, they have repackaged and still repackaging, yet nothing good has come out of their Nazareth.

In Conclusion, the old wine in a new bottle will not give a new taste, only new wine will bring an inspiring taste, let's do things differently and systematically to get a new result.

Thank you for your time and attention.
