LOCKDOWN SUCCOUR: ABEOKUTA SOUTH LEAD AND OTHERS FOLLOW AS HON. AYODEJI SHOMIDE MONITORS DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF MATERIALS, APPLAUDS GOV ABIODUN


The Chairman, Transition Committee Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Ayodeji Michael Shomide has applauded Ogun State Government Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR for the food items and relief materials released to be distributed to paupers and helpless people in the Council Area, a gesture aimed at reducing the effect of the ongoing lockdown in Ogun State.

He said, premium has been placed on how the relief materials would be shared for different areas within the Council Area and this has been observed by the  Committee set up for this purpose.

While speaking to the Press, he declared that 'I had set up a Committee in my Local Government and that body comprised 'myself' as the Chairman of the Committee, the elected members of the State House of Assembly at Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon.Yusuff Adejojo representing Abeokuta South Local Government constituency I ; and Hon. Adeyemi constituency II; and other stakeholders as outlined by the directive of the Governor of the state, with a core mandate to get the relief materials mainly to the poor and most vulnerable in the Council Area, and so far, the Committee has ensured that none of the materials was given to a group of people but identified vulnerable people within our communities'

In the same vein, Hon. Shomide and the members of the Transition Committee and the Permanent Secretary,  House of Assembly, Mr. Jonathan Onajobi were also in attendance at Kuto Market during the flag off of fumigation exercise conducted by the Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation personnel in the Local Government in conjunction with Ogun State Ministry of Environmental Sanitation and Federal Fire Services to combat the deadly  COVID-19.

Hon.Shomide addressed the dwellers and the spectators at the event to abide by the Stay at Home directives of Ogun State Government at this uncertain time
