Easter Celebration: Meditate on God's Word and let it Elicit Some Joy in You - ABS Charges Christians

The Assistant General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu has urged Christians across Ogun State and Nigeria to meditate on the word of God  so that it will bring forth some joy in them.

He enjoins them that although everything maybe at standstill with the lockdown, the Easter Celebration still commemorates the day the Lord Jesus Christ offered himself for the atonement of our sins. It marks the period when our sins were washed away and totally forgiven. It is the time when the celestial hosts sparkle with joy because all human bondages are perpetually broken.

In a statement signed by his Media Assistant, Lamidi Obayomi, it was stated that although the celebration might not go as desired with the lockdown but it actually offers us the opportunity to meditate on the meaning and the true essence of Easter. He charged Christians to commit themselves to the reading of God's word as it is the only succour in a moment like this.

He stated that "despite the unfortunate situation of the whole world at this material time, he expressed optimism that the world will become stronger after the global pandemic". He further enjoins Christians to stay within the Will of God and obey all Government's laid down rules and directives in combating the spread of the Virus.

Apostle Sanyaolu also commends the frontline officers particularly the health and security professionals for their heroic interventions in the quest to combat the national pandemic.
