OWODE ARMY/POLICE INCIDENT: PCRC CALLS FOR CALM

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), in Ogun State and Southwest Nigeria, has reacted to the ugly incident which occured today Friday 10th April 2020, at Owode Idi-Iroko, where a Police Officer on Enforcement Duty of FG's Covid 19 Stay at Home Order was beaten to Coma by Army Officers.

Speaking from Abeokuta the State Capital, the Ag. State Chairman, Ven. Arch. Samson Kunle Popoola and the National Vice Chairman in charge of Southwest Geopolitical Zone, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, appealed to Police Officers on enforcement duty not to get distracted by the ugly incident.

The duo stressed on the need to view the avoidable incident as part of the huge Sacrifice to a Nation in dear need of Patriots who will not allow any distraction whatsoever, at this Critical Period of Corona Virus Pandemic.

They assured and trust both Police and Army authorities to step in, investigate and take necessary actions to prevent a reoccurrence.

As part of her ongoing compliance monitoring collaboration with the Police, the PCRC will on Sunday 12th April 2020, visit Owode Idi - Iroko area of Ogun State and at the same time, visit the Police Officer affected by this unfortunate incident.

They applauded the AIG in charge of Zone 2, Ahmed Iliyasu Psc+, Compol Lagos, Hakeem Odumosu, Compol Ogun, Keneth Ebrimson, Ogun So Safe Commander, Soji Ganzalo and Other Southwest Compols, for working harmoniously to nip in the bud, worrisome activities of criminal gangs within various communities, who have taken advantage of the Government's Stay at Home Order to commit all sorts of crime and criminality.
