Abeokuta South Local Government on Wednesday (March 11, 2020) issued a seven days quit notice to all traders with containerised store and other forms of stalls at Ologunebi- Itoku, beside NIPCO Filling Station lane. This became necessary after a final quit notice was served on them.

The council, in a statement, signed by the transition chairman, Hon. Ayodeji Michael Shomide, asked all the traders at the location to vacate the present location.

The notice was a demonstration of the council's determination to regenerate the entire  neighborhood in other to  construct modern Shopping Mall for the occupants in the area.

According to Hon.
Shomide, he explained that the modern shopping mall will be private sector-driven which will attract investors to do business after completion.

He then urged those affected by the directive to remove their stalls within the period of grace, warning that the council would be left with no choice than to demolish any of such stall remaining after expiration of the ultimatum.
