NDA ADMISSION IS OPEN TO ALL NIGERIANS - COMMANDANT NDA

The Commandant Nigerian  Defence Academy (NDA), Major General Adeniyi Oyebade has dispelled the belief that admission into the Academy is based on 'Godfatherism' and not merit.

Contrary to that notion, the Commandant  disclosed, any candidate applying for admission into the NDA would be doing so on a level playing ground, as every candidate will undergo a series of processes to test their suitability both physically and mentally before they could be given admission into the Academy.

The Commandant stated while responding to comments when members of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Kaduna State Chapter paid him a courtesy visit at the Academy Headquarters, Afaka today.

Gen Oyebade charged the group to always embrace peace in their dealings with their neighbours. According to him, conflicts and problems are part of human existence and those who tow the path of peace will always experience peace. He admonished them not to resort to repraisal in solving communal issues as two wrongs cannot make a right.

Leader of the delegation and secretary of the Association,  Musa Mohammed Gambo, who represented the president, thanked the Commandant for granting them audience and the opportunity to express their views.

He appealed the NDA help with entrepreneurship training schemes that would help empower their youths to become self sufficient as well as give equal opportunities to those suitably qualified for admission into NDA.

Another member of the delegation, Bello Idris applauded the Commandant for his hospitality and intervention during farmers and herders clashes while serving as the GOC 1Div. He prayed God to continue to elevate him to greater heights.
