ORU IJEBU's BLACK FRIDAY: WOMEN PROTEST AGAINST DANGOTE TRUCKS MOVEMENT IN THE COMMUNITY



Following the accident that occurred at Oru Ijebu in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun state, on Friday, 23rd 2018 in which a truck belonging to the foremost richest business mogul in African, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, wiped off a family from the surface of earth, the women in the community, today, took to street and protested against the movement of the Dangote Trucks in the community.

The women in their hundreds took their protest to the Palace of the monarch of the community, Oba Dr. Abdur-Rasaq Olufemi Adebanjo, calling on the government and those in authority to as a matter of urgency, rescue them from the reckless driving of the Dangote Truck drivers by creating an alternate route for the movement of the trucks.

The accident which claimed the father, simply named Mr Fatai an electrician and his children with a neighbor's child happened at about 7.30 am on Friday 23rd, February 2018.

Before the accident, Mr. Fatai was said to be conveying his children to their school, Itamerin Comprehensive High School, Oru Ijebu with his motorcycle before they met their untimely death as a result of the obvious recklessness of the drivers.

Dangote truck drivers have been reported to have caused more mayhem, destruction and killings of many lives in Ijebu Igbo and Oru Ijebu respectively in the last twenty-four months as a result of the reckless driving of its drivers.

However, earlier today, the Honourable Member representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja,  Hon. Aremo Segun Adekoya paid a condolence visit to the families of the deceased in Oru Ijebu. Aremo Segun Adekoya in his speech, he condoled with both families of the deceased persons, and promised to put in efforts so as to ensure that the culprit does not go unpunished. He prayed for the families and the deceased persons.
