Kashamu facilitates solar-powered streetlights in Ogun-Waterside

The lawmaker representing Ogun East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Buruji Kashamu, has facilitated 37 stand alone solar-powered streetlights in Abigi, Ayede and Ilushin in Ogun-Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State as part of his constituency projects.

Residents of the benefitting communities trooped out in their numbers to witness the take-off of the project.

Kashamu said the project was in fulfillment of his electoral promise to make life more meaningful for his constituents.

He said the project will enhance business activities and security in the communities.

“Leadership is all about matching words with actions and this is what  this project demonstrates. I will continue to bring more dividends of democracy through the delivery of meaningful projects to the electorate. This project will not only boost security; it will also  enhance the economy of the communities," Kashamu said.

In his response to the development, a community leader, Alhaji Taiwo Abayomi, thanked the lawmaker for the initiative and urged the people to take ownership of the project on completion by protecting it from vandals.

"We say a big thank you to Senator Kashamu for redeeming his electoral promise. This project is not for politicians, but for us the residents. We should appreciate this gesture by taking ownership and protecting it, on completion," Abayomi said.
