Showunmi Donates Cash, Restores Water Supply to IDP Camp, Abuja
The Founder of the Alternative Movement, Segun Showunmi, has sponsored the restoration of water supply at the Wassa Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Abuja, bringing relief to thousands of residents affected by a prolonged water shortage.
The Civitas Auxillium Foundation initiated the project after the camp’s borehole, the primary water source for its more than 5,000 residents, became faulty.
Showunmi visited the camp to formally inaugurate the completed project and reaffirm his commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through humanitarian interventions.
Under his leadership, the Alternative Movement previously sponsored interventions at the camp, including a medical outreach aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of displaced residents.
During the visit, Showunmi urged residents not to lose hope in government assistance, promising to draw the attention of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and presidential officials to their challenges.
He also appealed to the Borno State Governor to support the welfare of the displaced persons, noting that many camp residents are from the state. ReadDaily News
