Tinubu Departs Paris For Nigeria, To Arrive Lagos Today

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ended his working vacation and departed Paris, France, for Nigeria.

The President’s aircraft is expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, later this evening, according to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Onanuga said President Tinubu chose to fly into Lagos first to honour the memory of Chief MKO Abiola, the martyr of Nigeria’s democratic struggle.

In Lagos, the President will on Independence Day attend the premiere of a movie honouring Abiola, winner of the June 12, 1993 election, at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Iganmu.

He will also hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates in preparation for the 2027 elections.

President Tinubu left Abuja on August 30 for the working vacation, spending one week in London before heading to Paris, where he met President Emmanuel Macron, business leaders including Vincent Bolloré of Bolloré Group, and First Holdings Chairman, Femi Otedola.

He also witnessed the signing of an MoU between Ogun State and DP World for a $7 billion Gateway deep seaport and Blue Marine Economic Zone in Ogun Waterside.

The President will return to Abuja after his Lagos engagements.
