OGUN PCRC CAUTION FAKE NEWS CARRIERS IN OGUN STATE

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogun State Command, under the leadership of Comrade Abdulahi Babatunde Lawal, State Chairman, wishes to caution members of the public, media practitioners, and social media users against the spread of fake, misleading, and unverified information.

All news and information concerning the PCRC, the Nigeria Police Force, and security matters must be properly verified through the appropriate channels before publication or broadcast.

The dissemination of false information is capable of creating panic, misleading the public, damaging reputations, and undermining peace and security within our communities.

We therefore warn that anyone found deliberately spreading fake news, misinformation, or unverified reports shall be held accountable in accordance with the law, as such acts are punishable and may attract appropriate sanctions.

The PCRC Ogun State Command remains committed to promoting responsible communication, public safety, and effective community policing.
