The crisis, which commenced a few days ago, took a new dimension on Wednesday after a failed reconciliation meeting conveyed at the instance of the president.
According to reports, the Nentawe Yilwatda led faction of the ruling party made an offer of 40 billion naira to the Hafsatu Danladi led faction in order to end the crisis and douse the tension, but the latter vehemently refused, signaling a narrow chances for the ruling party to field a presidential candidate in 2027.
Indications are high that baring any last-minute intervention by the powers that be at the villa, INEC may be compelled by the courts to seize recognition of Nentawe Yilwatda faction arising from the flawed March 27 party's national convention in Abuja, pending the determination of the substantive suit.
