2026 ARADOKUN DAY CELEBRATION: A CALL TO ALL BONAFIDE YOUTH OF SAWONJO LAND

The leadership, executives and members of Aradokun day Planning Committee, under the able capacity Chairman and the Agba-Akin of Sawonjo, Chief Dauda Obayomi and the Adele of Sawonjo, Chief Mueeb-deen Mulero, invites and encourage all young people from our great land to join us in commemorating this year Aradokun Day!

The Aradokun day Festival, an integral part of the Yewa people’s cultural heritage, is celebrated annually in Sawonjo, Yewa North local government areas Ogun State, to honour the legendary Aradokun meaning that (ARA-DE-OKUN), a renowned hero of Sawonjo who was a renowned hunter that killed only wild game like Elephant, Lion, Tiger etc... The Founder and first settler migrated from ATIBA FAMILY in Oyo.

The historical events of Sawonjo Aradokun day festival will comes up on the 4th April 2026 at Olu of Sawonjo Palace (New Site) by 10:00am. All Regbe Regbe means Associations must be seated by 9:00am before the arival of our Royal father, HRM Oba Micheal Ayinde Oderinde, Kuyadi 1 and Olu of Sawonjo.

Also the Publicity Committee led by the BOBA-JIRO of Sawonjo, Chief Idowu Rotimi said this festival will unites thousands of Sawonjo sons and daughters, as well as Cultural dancing like Bolojo, Gelede and Egungun dancing from around the town to commemorate the remarkable legacy and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the town.
This special day is an opportunity for us to come together, celebrate our heritage, and showcase the talents, creativity, and potential of our dear Land.

Join us as we unite, network, and inspire one another to drive positive change and development in our beloved Sawonjo Land.

DAY ONE:
•  Installation of New Chiefs at the Palace of Olu of Sawonjo
Time: 10:00am

- Primary and Secondary School Quiz Competition

Date: Friday, April 3rd, 2026
Time: 10:00 am
Venue: Sawonjo HighSchool, Sawonjo.

• Jumat Service
Venue: Sawonjo Central Mosque,  Sawonjo
Time: 1:00 pm.

• Olokishi Night to be Chair by Alhaji Mukaila Oderinde.
Venue: Market Square ground,  Sawonjo
Time: 8:00pm.

DAY TWO:

- Ground Final at

Special Guest of Honour,  His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, Executive Governor of Ogun State.
Chief host, Hon. Dr. Olusola Samuel Akinbode, the Executive Chairman of Yewa North Local Government
Venue: Olu of Sawonjo (New Site)
Time: 10:00am.

• Associations will pay Homage to our royal father, HRM Oba Micheal Ayinde Oderinde, Kuyadi 1and Olu of Sawonjo, by 12:00pm

• Presentation of gifts to the winner of the quiz competition by 1:00pm

• Cultural Dancing 2:00pm

• Launching of 150 Million Naira for the Completion of new Palace

DAY THREE:

- Thanksgiving Service
