Ogunji Women Forum Marks Second Anniversary in Grand Style, Shares It's Establishment as a Knowledge and Partnership Hub.
The Ogunji Women Forum comprising eleven community development association under Irepolere Ogunji Area CDC in Odeda local government on Friday 12th December 2025 held the second edition of forum with aims to improve the policy frameworks for women's empowerment in their different communities with the theme: "COMMUNITY" United in Purpose and Action, Sharing Prosperity to Build a Better Society.
The second anniversary was mark with a landmark celebration that combine decoration of distinguished personalities as Patrons and Matrons also presentation of certificate.
The forum also shared its accomplishments since it establishment as a 'knowledge and partnership hub' in the Ogunji, including women's economic empowerment, ending violence against women and girls; women, peace and security; and gender statistics.
In her thanksgiving remark, the Chairperson of the forum, Chief Mrs Akinbode Abosede expressed gratitude to God for the privilege of being enthroned as chairperson, and for God's blessings, guidance and protection that she and the forum has continued to enjoy, which she said we're all proofs of God's faithfulness in their life.
She noted that Ogunji has seen, experienced and enjoyed conspicuous development and progress within the period so far but also appealed to the government of good road and constant power supply.
In her shot remark, the Chairperson Irepolere Ogunji Area CDC, Chief Mrs Motunrayo M. Adeoti noted that the second anniversary which very successful is a testament to the widespread by the forum, she said Ogunji Women Forum was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs according to their constitution, and they are delivering programmes, policies and standards that uphold women's human rights and ensure that every woman and girl lives up to her full potential.
Expressing gratitude to those who supporting the forum over the year, she stated: the forum will continue its effort in advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls in the Ogunji axis.
Speaking on the significance of the forum anniversary, the leaders and the invited guests described the milestone as both a celebration and a call to responsibility. "In two years, Ogunji Women Forum has proven to be a credible voice of the community. That this year's theme challenges us to reimagine communities future and underscores the indispensable role the women in ensuring that the future is bright".
The forum has distinguished themselves with a strong culture of independence. Their second anniversary therefore represents more than longevity; and appealed to them to build a platform for reflection, dialogue, and renewed commitment to shaping their different communities, they said.
Another high point of the celebration was the showing up of the father Christmas that grace the occasion to celebrate with them with presentation of gifts to the kids which made the celebration colourful
Dignitaries decorated includes the Chairman Polica Community Relations Committee, Adatan Area Command, Hon. Taiwo Akinlabi, The CDC Zonal Chairman Odeda local government, Comrade Emmanuel Igbagbodoyin Iyasere, The Baale of Ogunji, Chief Toriola Fayemi and Chief Mrs Adewunmi Opeyemi Abosede for the recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Ogunji communities.
At the iconic anniversary event to honour the women forum were top CDC leaders from Odeda local government, Chairman PCRC Adatan Area Command, Hon Taiwo Akinlabi, CDC Zonal Chairman Odeda local government, Comrade Emmanuel Igbagbodoyin Iyasere, Chairman Ilupeju Obantoko Area CDC, Oloye Kehinde Dimeji, the Baale of Ogunji Community, Chief Toriola Fayemi Represented by one of his chiefs, Chief Mrs Adewunmi Opeyemi Abosede, Me Adebayo Owodunni, Comrade Bunmi Odetola (Pikolo),and others.
