NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Agbo Accuse INEC of Taken Sides With Kwankwasiya Group.

The attention of the national leadership of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has been drawn to a purported national convention held in Abuja on 20th of  December 2025 by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his Kwankwassiya group using the name of our party.

After a careful deliberation on this matter, the NNPP wishes to clear the air by stating as follows:

1. That our great party did not convene any meeting under whatever name on the said date as being reported in some sections of the media.

2. That the NNPP had its last elective convention in accordance with the rule of law and party constitution in December 2024 with conclusion of the process in January 2025 and the tenure of the Dr Agbo Major led National Working Committee is still alive.

3. That the conveners of the meeting being reported is Kwankwaso and his group who, from the report elected one Dr Ahmed Ajuji as the chairman of the kwankwassiya group not NNPP.

4. That the internal leadership dispute in NNPP was long decided in favour of Dr Boniface Aniebonam, its founder and Dr Agbo Gilbert Major by the Abia High Court in 2024 and the FCT High Court in 2025.

5. That the FCT High Court in April 2025 ordered INEC to uphold the rule of law by updating their website records to reflect Dr Agbo Major and Comrade Olaposi Oginni, a judgement that has been suspiciously ignored by the Commission.

6. That in a bid to ensure the implementation of the judgement, the Dr Agbo Major led NWC recently returned to the FCT High Court for a judicial review of the judgement with an aim to compel INEC to obey it.

7. That the FCT High Court in two separate orders in November 2025 issued an order to restrain INEC from further dealing with the Kwankwaso led faction. The court in the second order further directed that the Dr Agbo Gilbert Major led NWC be recognised by INEC in line with the two court judgements pending the determination of the substantive suit before it.

8. The implication of this is that aside the Dr Agbo led NWC, any event held in the name of  NNPP is illegal, null and void before the law.

9. That we are utterly shocked by the brazen disregard for the rule of law by INEC and hereby call for them to step back or declare fully as members of the Kwankwassiya group instead of being impartial umpires.

10. Nigerians, while in search for their leaders must be careful with people like Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who pretend to be lovers of  peace, democracy and rule of law but promote anarchy and break down of law and order through their actions. He want to be president but would not obey court judgement, orders and rule of law that are the wheels of democracy.

11. For the sake of emphasis, let it be placed on records once again that Kwankwaso, Buba Galadima, Ajuji and the entire Kwankwassiya group has long been expelled from our party for gross anti party activities.

Thank you all.

Dr Agbo Gilbert Major,
National Chairman,
NNPP.
