EGBA ECONOMIC SUMMIT GROUP VISITS WASINMI AIRPORT IN OGUN STATE TO ASSESS THE STATE OF THE PROJECT.



Today 29th December, 2025, The President of Egba Economic Summit Group Dr.Gbenga Adeoye  and other prominent Egba Sons visited the Wasinmi Airport Site.


In the team are 


Engr.Ola Sobande; a major founding member of EES and first leader.

Prince Abiodun Karunwi; a former Board Chairman of EES.

Residents of the areas where the site located also joined the team to state their desire to see the Airport becoming a reality.


The President stated that the objective of their visit is to appraise the extent of work done, proximity to Yewa Land as well as viability and importance of the airport.


In his brief statement after the visit, the President explained that the nearness of the Airport to Yewaland makes it one of the best project in Ogun State.


He explained that it was easy to drive from the site to Aga Olowo as well as Onigbedu from the Airport which is along Ibese road having entered through Wasinmi, the team existed through Onigbedu.


In his statement, Engr.Ola Sobande explained that the Wasinmi Airport will be useful to decongest the Ikeja Airport in Lagos.


Apart from this..Prince Abiodun Karunwi explained that the Airport will lead to massive development of the area .


The Airport is also useful for emergency landing during take off and landing at Lagos Airport if the need arises and it will promote business growth in Egba and Yewa Land as the proximity to Yewa is more than Egbaland.


The President emphasise that the focus of Egba Economic Summit is to ensure the development of Egbaland and Egba people including dwellers whether of Egba origin or not.


The Team drove to Aga Olowo and Onigbedu to determine the distance from the Airport to Ibese.


While wishing all Egbas and Ogun State people merry Christmas and happy new year, the summit assured all Egbas that all projects that will enhance the development of Egbaland will be closely monitored and encouraged.


The summit promised to embark on a tour of the Idi Aba Ajebo Alapako Express road to appraise the progress as that road will also help the university of Medicine and Medical Sciences located at Ajibayo Village near Kajola in Obafemi Owode Local Government.
