OGUN PCRC, NOMINATES OUTGOING CHAIRMAN, SKP FOR ZONE 2 CHAIRMANSHIP, ENDORSE DEPUTY AS SUCCESSOR AT THE EXPIRATION OF CURRENT TENURE.
The Ogun State Command of PCRC, today held the 6th & the last state meeting for the year 2025.
The meeting had representatives from no less than 12 area commands in attendance.
Very important issues, starting from the review of activities & programmes held in the year were reviewed such as the Website, Health Insurance, Leadership Training & PCRC week among others.
The State PCRC Chairman, Ven. Dr. Samson Kunle Popoola JP, also reeled out various current activities which included the remodelling/upgrading of Ibara GRA Police post to a divisional status, appeal to the IGP for provision of police personnel for newly created area commands, upcoming Sagamu security summit, Traffic Marshall AGM & the investiture of the Chairman of Justrite Trading as a State Golden Patron among others.
Area Command reports were taken from their chairmen.
The National Chairman, Mogaji Ibrahim Aramide Olaniyan, in a telephone conversation lauded the wonderful contributions and support from the Ogun State PCRC, adding that it's a force to reckon within National PCRC platform.
He notified the house of the orderly succession plan in the state PCRC , especially as he has endorsed the current State chairman,Ven. Popoola to be the sole candidate for the position of Zone 2 Chairman due to come up in March 2026.
He gave a preview of the systemic approach to the leadership of both Ogun State and Zone 2, which comprises of Lagos & Ogun States, explaining that it is the turn of Ogun State to head the zone.
And in order to avoid a vacuum, the current Deputy State Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Babatunde Lawal will step in as the acting state chairman to lead the state till December 2026, when the tenure of the current Excos will come to an end.
The National Chairman was optimistic of an equally fantastic leadership under Comrade Lawal in the state.
According to him, the deputy state chairman had been a consistent & loyal deputy, who has learnt the ropes.
The state meeting burst into a thunderous/ecstatic session, saying that SKP deserved the nomination.
Majority of members expressed their confidence in the managerial capability/competencies of Ven. Samson Popoola.
The last activity of the year is the end of year party for children of police officers & PCRC on 13th December.
