Gateway International Airport No Longer A Wish Says Segun Showunmi

Otunba Segun Showunmi, one of the few patriots in Nigeria on Thursday has expressed his joy over the newly commissioned Gateway International Airport at Ilisan, Ogun state.

Segun Showunmi who flew from Abuja through the Airport said that he is happy that the issue of the International Airport is no longer a wish, it has become a working reality.

Otunba when arrived at the Airport radiated joy by singing and dancing showing how happy it is to finally have a plane destination in the state.

He attributed the achievements of the airport to the commitment of Prince Dapo Abiodun’s vision towards the development of Ogun State, while also commending the originator of this laudable project, the current Ogun Easter Senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.  

Showunmi pointed out that the Airport had made Ogun become  truly a hub of economic prosperity,  insisting that anyone who refused to invest in Ogun is losing out.  

Showunmi boastfully stated that he served in the Otunba Gbenga Daniel led administration which gave him the ample opportunity to know when the idea was conceived. 

Showunmi posited that sometimes when an opportunity is missed, it shouldn't be regarded as lost, believing that whatever is coming is better. "Gateway International Airport,  the best is yet to come", he said. 

Saluting Governor Dapo Abiodun 's sportsmanship nature for carrying out such huge project and for the infrastructures provided at the Airport.

" Because, many people lobbied, organisation and business owners,  knowing that if we build it,  inevestors will come, anyone who wants to transform any environment, first of all, must make sure they put infrastructure for multimodal transportation. On behalf of all good citizens of Ogun State at home and in  diaspora, I want to say huge congratulations to His Excellency. Omoba, Dapo Abiodun, the man who ensured that, in our lifetime, a commercial flight landed in Iperu, Ilishan, Ogun state."

"Over time, people are going to learn that this infrastructure will generate more income than all of the medley of misdirected activities they prioritise instead of facing the things that are important"

Speaking on the delay, he argued 

Sometimes in life, you assume that the best happened in the past, but I think with the way I'm seeing things, the best is yet to come. 

"I have a very strong feeling that the Governor of Ogun State is going to finish very strongly. I have an idea of the kinds of investments all around and now, what I like to tell people, Ogun is the investment destination of choice in Nigeria. If you are not investing in Ogun state, you ain't investing"

In Conclusion, Otunba appealed to foreign and indigenous investors to make Ogun state their final business destination.
