OUR FOCUS SHOULD BE ON BUILDING THE BEST FRAMEWORK FOR DEVELOPMENT, SAFETY AND OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL RESIDENTS, Rt. Hon. Ayokunle Isiaka Appeal to Constituency.

Appeal to all Constituents of Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency.

Warm greetings to all our brothers and sisters in Ifo/ Ewekoro Federal Constituency.

We are currently facing cross-sectional claims and counterclaims about who should represent Ifo/Ewekoro Federal in the coming general election. I write to you with a spirit of unity, humility, and shared purpose, guided by our Faiths and our common humanity, with a reminder from faith and scripture.

In the Quran, it is affirmed that sovereignty belongs to God and that He gives leadership to whomever He wills. We read that “to Him belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth” and that rulers are established by His wisdom. Let this remind us that tenure in any office is ultimately by God’s decree, not by personal entitlement. (Quran 3:26; 6:82-83)

Also, in the Bible, humble leadership is highlighted as a divine trust given by God to those He chooses, not as a trophy earned by boastful striving. Let us recall that God raises up leaders from among His people according to His plan, for the good of all. (Proverbs 21:1; Romans 13:1)

These reminders are not about passivity, but about placing our hopes in the Creator who alone knows the best arrangement for all of us. They call us to humility, patience, and a readiness to submit to God’s timing.

We must not allow the devil to divide us. When voices rise with personal resentments or competitive spirits, our shared purpose as a people weakens. Let us choose peace, dialogue, and mutual respect over rancor and personal victory. Ota, Ifo, and Ewekoro have a shared history as a united community. Once, as a Single Local Government, we now enjoy 2, and we are blessed with growth. Progress comes from collaboration, not contention. Our focus should be on building the best framework for development, safety, and opportunity for all residents.

It is natural to have concerns and preferences for who should represent us. However, we can express these preferences with decorum, without inflicting emotional hardship or undermining the dignity of others.

I beg every member of our extended family—Ifo, and Ewekoro—to sheath the swords of division and to stand together as one people under our Creator. This does not negate the legitimate concerns and preferences of individuals; rather, it elevates our common good above personal gain. By God’s grace, let us choose peace, dialogue, and unity so that our communities can flourish together.

May the good Lord bless you all, strengthen our unity, and guide our steps toward a peaceful and prosperous future for Ifo Local Government, Ewekoro Local Government, and all the residents. May He keep us aligned with His purpose and grant us wisdom to act in the best interest of all residents.
