In a significant step toward the August 16th bye-election for Remo Federal Constituency, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially cleared Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole (ABO) to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.

The announcement was made on Friday, July 18, 2025, following the conclusion of the party’s screening exercise. The certificate of provisional clearance was formally presented to Oluwole by the Chairman of the PDP Screening Committee, Hon. Tarchio John, during a brief ceremony at the PDP Secretariat in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. John emphasized the legitimacy and thoroughness of the vetting process:

“This certificate confirms that Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole has successfully met all constitutional and procedural requirements of the PDP. He is now eligible to fly the party’s flag in the upcoming bye-election.”

The screening, carried out by a five-member panel constituted by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), was held earlier in the week. The committee was tasked with vetting all aspirants to ensure compliance with the party’s internal guidelines.

The members of the committee include:

* Hon. Tarchio John – Chairman

* Alebiosu Ademola Sikiru – Secretary

* Mr. Sulaiman Jamiu

* Tony Agbetuyi

* Edith Osaigbovo

This clearance represents a key milestone for Oluwole, whose candidacy has been gaining traction across the Remo political landscape. With this endorsement, he now advances to the next phase of his campaign, buoyed by increased momentum and growing grassroots support.

As the PDP positions itself for a competitive showing in the bye-election, all eyes will be on Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole’s next moves in the build-up to August 16.
