NNPP LEADERSHIP CRISIS MOVE TO KANO AS APPEAL COURT RESERVED JUDGEMENT ON KANO STATE LG ELECTION DISPUTES BETWEEN NNPP & KWANKWASIA.

 

Recognizing the fact that  Federal High Court, Kano Judicial Division on the 24th of October, 2024 delivered a landmark judgement to affirm that it was Only the Chairmanship and Councillorship Candidates presented  to KANSIEC by Barr. Dalhatu led Executives of New Nigeria People's Party ( NNPP)led by Dr. Agbo Gilbert Major and the Board of Trustees led by the NNPP's Founder Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam that were eligible to contest the Election. 

However ,the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) against the judgement of the Federal High Court went ahead to conduct the election with the disqualified Kwankwasia members marauding as NNPP's Candidates for the LG Election.

 Unfortunately Gov.Abba Yusuf completed the illegality by swearing in the already disqualified candidates as Chairmen and Councillors of the 44LG of the State.

Realizing the potency of the judgement of Federal High Court Kano, Gov.Abba Yusuf directed the KANSIEC to appeal the case. 

The appeal case  was filed by the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission with No. CA/KN/20/2025 and Suit No. FHC/KN/CS/306/2024 having KANSIEC as Appealant and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Inspector General of Police (IGP), Director of State Security Services (DSS), New Nigeria People's Party ( NNPP) and Engr. Muhammed Babayo the Deputy National Chairman (North) of NNPP as Respondents.

After adoption of processes by the lawyers of the Appealant and Respondents, Judgement was reserved by the Federal Appeal Court, Kano Judicial Division sitting in Abuja on Tuesday 8th of April, 2025.

While fielding questions from the media, Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday, the National Secretary of New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) expressed satisfaction with the argument advanced by the team of lawyers that represented NNPP and Engr. Muhammed Babayo at the appellate Court. " We are very optimistic that the judgement shall come out in our favour because the Federal High Court sitting in Kano on the 24th of October made it clear that Only the Candidates fielded by our chairman(Barr.Dalhatu )were the authentic New Nigeria People's Party Candidates for the Chairmanship and Councillorship Election in Kano".
