Egbaliganza Unveils Multi-billion Dollars initiative to Promote Egba Cultural Heritage
A call has gone to egba sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora to brace up to the challenge of rescuing egba cultural values and heritage from going into extinction.
The initiator of the EgbaLiganza , a fashion brand of Egba cultural dressing , Chief Lai Labode made the call at a news briefing announcing the brand on Tuesday in Lagos.
Chief Labode said aside that egbas are first in all areas of human endeavours including education , described them as people with bunch of talents whose creativity , brilliance, excellence and intelligence distinguished them from people in other parts of Yoruba land . He urged indigenes of the land to come up with measures that will help to promote the culture and heritage of the Egbas.
Speaking further , he informed that the brand which will soon be launched , was designed to showcase the creativity and craftsmanship of the Egba people as it will represents their heritage across the globe.
In his remarks , the chairman of EgbaLiganza, Chief Yemi Lawal , informed that , the initiative is a dedication of efforts and ideas to preserve and promote egba culture , harping on the need for indigenes to come up with more innovations aimed at celebrating the unique identity of the people
While describing the business and technological aspect of the initiative , the Vice Chairman of the EgbaLiganza , Chief Atobatele Abiodun , extolled the virtues of design and styles as well as the beauty of egba cultural dressing , expressed optimism that the brand will soon attract global attention and admired by people from other tribes and culture in Yoruba land.
He promised to leverage on his technological expertise in the drive at ensuring effective promotion of the brand.
Also speaking , the Director of Project , Egba Liganza , Chief Abdul-Akeem Mustapha , highlighted series of programmes to be reeled out by the organiser and promised to carry along all groups including the youths to achieve their goals and aspirations through empowerment .
