Checkmate Political Appointees Causing Crisis Within Road Transport Union, Alh. Akeem Bodunrin Appeals to Governor Abiodun.

The leadership of a section of Ogun State Transport Union has called on Governor Dapo Abiodun to call to order some of the political appointees in the state, who they alleged are brain behind crisis which recently engulfed the body, and still looming.

Reports that the state chairman of Park Management Services Limited (PAM) Alh. Akeem Bodunrin Iyeru in company of other members of his Union made the appeal in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday, adding that the ploy of these political appointees was to sideline members in scheme of things within the union.

The complainants emphasized that the alleged political appointees are promoting conflicts in collaboration with Alhaji Ismailia Mustapha Adewale popularly called ‘Yaro’ in bid to cause mayhem in the state.

‘It is a knowing fact that the transport unions in Ogun State especially the car/bus section has been engulfed in crisis after the last gubernatorial election in the state. It is also an open secret that there has been a serious contention over the three transport unions not until recent that relative and easy calm returned, but it last for a while’, Iyeru noted.

Further reports that the leadership pointed out that the union contributed immensely to the success of the Governor for a second term in office, but expressed dismay that Yaro was hell bent in causing another round of confusion

‘The issues initial involved stakeholders who put in their best to ensure peace and tranquility, and a measurable result was achieved, but Alh. Ismailia Mustapha Adewale Yaro seems hell belt in causing confusion in the State as regards the Transport Unions matters’.

Also reports that the statement alleged that it was recently noticed that Yaro went ahead to bring in non-state actors who were suspected to be members of radical groups, in his bid and efforts to cause mayhem in the state.

‘Though, it remains to be seen if Yaro on his own could weather the storm alone without the help of an insider in the government circle as there are unconfirmed speculation in some quarters that Yaro might have the backing of the SSG, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, Commissioner of Transport, Engr. Gbenga Dairo and if such information is anything to go bye, it a dangerous trend that must be stopped’, the statement stated.

‘There are also complains in some certain quarters that Yaro have removed some prominent union leaders who worked assiduously and contributed in no small measures for victory of His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun in the last guber election and replaced them with his hoodlums’

‘Some sources claim that Yaro is only trying to destabilize Ogun State because he is not an indigene of the state and might relocate within a speed of light if he eventually succeeds in causing troubles in the State’, he alleged.

‘So, it is imperative at this juncture, we appeal to our peace-loving Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, MFR, to intervene in this matter and caution some of his political appointees who might be involved and indirectly destabilizing the same government they are part of’.

In twisted of event, Alh. Akeem Bodunrin Iyeru while addressing newsmen earlier today, affirmed that the government ably led by His Excellence, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR CON, had intervened in the matter before and reaffirmed his initial agreement that allows RTEAN, NURTW and PAM to operate in turns, week in, week out. He further stated that the governor maintained that he stands by his words and will ensure that all and sundry is treated fairly.

‘And Yaro and his cohorts should be put where they rightfully belong. As they say, no price is too much for peace, and everyone involved should shield their swords and give peace a chance and avoid any act capable of causing unrest in our dear State’, Iyeru emphasised.

Yaro and his cohorts are bragging around to couse another chaos on 19th of January 2025 which is our week of operation. We call on His Excellency Governor Dapo Abiodun to checkmate the excesses of Yaro.
