Edo 2024: ALIGN Movement Condemns APC's Attempt to Disrupt PDP's Appeal, Condemns INEC For Suspicious Collusion With the APC

We the ALIGN Movement have been briefed as to reports that APC thugs and police are not allowing the PDP into INEC office in Edo State to inspect BVAS machines, regardless of court order. 

They are purposely trying to frustrate the case.

INEC is refusing to comply with the court order. They are saying that they need an order from Abuja. Police and APC thugs are preventing access, they are obstructing an effort to comply with a court order.

We at ALIGN Movement, one of the biggest socio-political movement in Nigeria condemn this act of evil in its entirety.

Mahmoud Yakubu and the IGP have become a department of the APC and are hell-bent on setting Edo State on fire. We are very concerned as concerned citizens and as citizens who believe in the rule of law.

The ALIGN Movement calls on the international community to be aware that Nigeria under President Tinubu has gone into full-blown dictatorship and tyranny, especially courtesy of the partisan nature of INEC under Mahmoud Yakubu.

We insist that Edo people's mandate cannot be stolen for free. ALIGN movement calls on all well-meaning Nigerians all over the world to be aware that APC, police and INEC have turned Edo State into a land of sorrow, tears and blood with these acts of impunity being done by them on the good people of Edo State.

The ALIGN Movement calls on INEC and the police to return the stolen mandate of the good people of Edo state. We insist that Enough is Enough!

INEC does not belong to APC or any party and as such the ALIGN Movement calls on INEC to allow the PDP and any other interested party as directed by the court to  inspect the BVAS used in the Edo State Governorship Election immediately.

INEC is stalling the process of BVAS inspection. We strongly condemn INEC for that and we call on the whole world to join us in condemning INEC as such.

They hurriedly issued certificate of return without allowing a review of the results. That is an abuse on democracy itself by INEC.

The INEC chairman has since 2019 been constantly subverting the process of democracy to favour the APC. Voter turnout has been declining due to loss of faith in INEC under Mahmoud Yakubu.

INEC has killed our democracy. INEC is supposed to be an unbiased umpire but rather it has become more of facilitators of election manipulation and stealing the people's mandate at the request of the APC each time, but we will not let this happen. We therefore call on the whole world to keep an eye on INEC and to put the necessary pressure on INEC to do the needful and let justice prevail.
