EFCC SAGA : LIKE YAHAYA BELLO LIKE KWANKWASO

The continuous resistance of Former Governors to EFCC Investigations is becoming worrisome as Nigeria is marking the June 12 Anniversary as Democracy Day.

The Court Order Procured by Kwankwaso to Stop EFCC investigation

It is on record that The New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) through it's National Secretary - Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday requested for the EFCC investigation of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and other corrupt party officers on the money collected by the party from the sales of Nomination forms and Campaign funds donations which was allegedly stolen by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his cohorts.

In a dramatic reaction to the imminent EFCC investigation, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso rushed to Kano State High Court to procure an order to stop EFCC from inviting him and other alleged corrupt officers for investigation.

Nigerians cannot forget in hurry that the former Governor of Kogi State , Yahaya Bello also use Kogi State High Court to procure a frivolous order similar to what Kwankwaso also procured from Kano State High Court to frustrate EFCC investigation and arrest.

Most Nigerians who spoke with our correspondent opined that The Democracy Day is much of the celebration of corrupt leaders most especially former Governors who  are " glorified thieves" .

The National Secretary of NEW NIGERIA PEOPLE'S PARTY (NNPP) Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday while reacting to the Order got by Kwankwaso from Kano State High Court to stop the EFCC, made it clear that asa law abiding political party, we have approached the relevant governmental agency with responsibility to deal with corruption in Nigeria. We can not teach EFCC how to do their job. I am very sure that EFCC is up to the task.

Having said that, the decision of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to rush to court for protection is suggestive. If Kwankwaso and his defunct NWC are as clean as they pretend to be, they have no reason to run away from EFCC's Investigation.

The New Nigeria People's Party ( NNPP) is hereby calling on well meaning Nigerians to prevail on Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to voluntarily submit himself to EFCC. It's more honourable for him to peacefully engage EFCC than unnecessary confrontation like Yahaya Bello.
