Olu of Sawonjo Charges Newly installed Honorary Sawonjo Chiefs on Development

The Olu of Sawonjo land, HRM,Oba Micheal Ayinde Oderinde has charged the newly installed honorary Chieftaincy titleholders to remain committed to the growth, progress and development of Sawonjo land, the factors that paved the way for their installation.


He gave the charge at the installation of Twenty-One (21) prominent sons and daughter of the ancient metropolis held at the ancient Sawonjo town. 


The Twenty-One (21) newly installed Chiefs are; Chief Muibi Mulero and his beautiful wife Chief Mrs Mulero as ADELE and YEYE ADELE, Chief Dauda Obayomi as AGBA-AKIN, Chief Dayo Okunade and his Wife Chief Mrs Okunade as AARE and YEYE AARE Chief Idowu Rotimi Akintade as BOBA-JIRORO, Chief Idowole Ganiu as BADA, Chief Akeem Akinlolu as AKINROGUN, Chief Mathew Ogunyinka as TAYESE, Chief Safiu Adana as AGORO, Chief Yisa Akinde as ASAJU, Chief Damilare Osun as OLUWO, Chief Afisu Odubiyi as JAGUNMOLU, Chief Oseni Akinyemi as BABALAJE while Chief Mrs Fatimoh Ojo and Chief Mre Raimot Popoola was installed IYA-LOJA and OTUN IYA-LOJA respectively.


Others are Çhief Abdul-Gafar Salami as BAALE MOSAFEJO COMMUNITY, Chief Jamiu Olaleye as BAALE OBADORE COMMUNITY, Chief Olamulekan Osun as BAALE OKE-OYINBO COMMUNITY, Chief Oluwaseun Bamgbose as BAALE OKA-AFIN COMMUNITY, Chief Ebenezer Kojeku Alayande as BAALE ORITA of Sawonjo land.


While performing the installation, the monarch recalled that their choice for their respective titles was based on their activities towards the growth and development of Sawonjo land over the years through their respective areas of callings and these new titles should be seen as nothing but a challenge to them from Sawonjo land to do more.


According to Oba Oderinde, “you would all agree with me that the conferment of the different chieftaincy titles on you was not financially induced, but in recognition of your quality as individuals, who are very passionate about Sawonjo land affairs. This recognition is for you to know that you are being appreciated by your people, whose stool I presently occupy by the special grace of Almighty God.


"To whom much is given, much is expected. That is the message to you from your people in Sawonjo. Don't rest on your oars, there are still so many things to do to make Sawonjo a place of our dreams which all of us can be proud of. By this new phase in your respective lives, you are expected to do more than you have been doing and whenever you are called upon for any role, accept such as a call to duty. Our ancestors will rewards everyone abundantly ", Oba Oderinde said.


The new Adele Oba of Sawonjo land, Chief Muibi Mulero popularly known as AGBE, who first responded on behalf of the newly Installed Chiefs thanked HRM Oba Micheal Ayinde Oderinde for counting them worthy, stressing that to be identified for such kind of honour among the population of about Seventy thousand people was not mean and it's not something that could be taken for granted.


On his own as the new AGBA-AKIN of Sawonjo land, Chief Dauda Adisa Obayomi said on behalf of the newly installed colleagues though my own came as surprised because I was not notified of the title, I want to pledge our continue dedication, loyalty and commitment to Sawonjo cause. We are very much grateful for this honour and promised that we won't let Kabiyesi and the good people of Sawonjo land down and we will hold dear to our hearts the admonition by His Royal Majesty; Chief Obayomi said.


The colourful ceremony which had in attendance all members of Olu of Sawonjo advisory council and top dignitaries from all over Yewa Noth and Ogun State.
