SENATE AD-HOC COMMITTEE ON CUSTOMS MEETS STAKEHOLDERS IN IDIROKO, OGUN COMMAND 1
The Adhoc committee setup by the Senate President; Godswill Akpabio to check the Nigeria Customs Service extrajudicial killings and other vices chaired by Senator Francis Fadahunsi, met with men of Nigeria Customs Services, Ogun Command 1; notable stakeholders and youths of Ipokia Local Government in Idiroko.
It would be recalled that this Adhoc committee was setup to look into extrajudicial killings by men of the Nigeria Customs Service after motions were moved at the floor of the red chambers.
The committee today, arrived at Idiroko and a meeting was held to the effect of their statutory duties. The Adhoc committee chairman was flanked by Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua and other committee members that has Senator Olamilekan Yayi on the list. The meeting witnessed presence of our Royal fathers, Youths and stakeholders across several spheres within our Local Government. Issues bordering extrajudicial killings, opening of our land border, review of numbers of checkpoints on our roads among others were discussed; as the Adhoc committee said the report would be submitted for proper implementation.
