"OUR YOUTHS, OUR FUTURE, HOPE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW", OGUN PCRC CHAIRMAN PREACHES PEACE

••••••• AS PCRC WEEK COMMENCE IN OGUN

Protocols,

The celebration of Ogun State Pcrc Week has now become an annual event aimed at arousing the interest of members of the public in contributing to their own security and safety through synergy with the police and other security agencies especially in the area of community policing.

The theme of this year's celebration, "OUR YOUTHS, OUR FUTURE, HOPE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW " is aimed at focussing on family values, ethics and norms in the face of dwindling moral and ethical values amongst our children and youths.

The menace of cultism, drug abuse, rituals and other violent crimes, calls for concerted efforts especially from our religious leaders and organisations who has the moral and spiritual responsibility of preaching to the conscience of the society for moral re-amarment and re-awakening.

We must have a rethink on the content of our Sermons, we must be seeing to draw a line between affluence and criminalities, we must question sources of ill- gotten wealth, our mosques and churches must not be used as an avenue for conscience cleansing through donations of blood money as no amount of monetary atonement can cleanse a perverted soul.

The pulpit must lead the war at restoring moral and ethical values. Family and parenting must be seen as the vanguard of good morals and the 'OMOLUWABI' culture of our forebears

It is on this note that I call on our religious and political leaders to join hands with the security agencies and the pcrc to chart a new course for a crime free society, to hammer more on morals and not wealth, humanity must not take a back seat in our list of priorities as a Nation.

Thank you, and God bless you all.

Ven Dr Samson Kunle Popoola JP

Ogun State Pcrc Chairman.

30th July 2023.
