YOUTH APEX BODY ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

 

The Youth Apex body in Nigeria, the National Youth Council of  Nigeria(NYCN) Ifo Local Government Chapter has elected new officers to steer the ship of the Council for the next four years at the elective congress of the Council held at Ifo Local Government Secretariat, Ifo, Ogun State.

 Comrade Ajibola Odetoyinbo emerge as the Coordinator, Comrade Omidokun Yusuf as the Okikiola Deputy Coordinator 1 and Comrade Akinsola Muktar was elected as Deputy Coordinator 2.

Other elected members are, Comrade Olanireti Olasunbo AJAYI Secretary, Com. Abdulazeez Abdulateef Alani  Financial Secretary, Comrade Adenuga Olayinka Esther, Treasurer while Comrade Lawal Olanrewaju Nurudeen Assistant General Secretary. 

 The Election also brought in Comrade Bamgbose Sharifat Omowunmi as Social Secretary, Com Agboola Ayodeji Samson and Comrade Timothy Adelaja as Programme Officers, while Comrade Adepoju Kalmadeen Adekunle and  Com. Kiladese Sherifdeen are Public Relations Officers and Comrade Prince Adekambi Rasheed as the Auditor.

 In his  inaugural speech the newly elected Coordinator, Comrade Ajibola Odetoyinbo express appreciation to the delegates and member affiliates of the Council, promising to initiate programmes and actions for positive engagement with policy makers in the Local Government towards building the capacity & empowerment of the Youth.

Earlier in a lecture entitled, Youth; Politics and Good governance, the Guest Speaker, Prof. Michael Abiodun Oni, Proffessor of Political  Science, from Babcock University, Illisan, Ogun State, stated that the Nigerian Youth are yet to utilize the full potential of their numerical strength in Democratic Governance for the actualization of their dreams. 

Professor Oni sighted the 2023 election in which Nigeria Youth Exhibited a lot of enthusiasm during the pre-election process but failed to  come out Enmass as voters but instead became social media watchers.

In his welcome address, the Electoral Committee Chairman, Comrade Olusegun Taiwo express optimism that the Newly elected Executive will put in their best for Development of the Youth. Council.
