Ogun 2023 Governorship: Afflictions Must Not Rise a Second Time, Ogun State Workers Cry to God, Reject Dapo Abiodun

 _By Jimmy Adubiaro_

Ogun State public servants have taken their case to God with a loud cry that “ this affliction must not rise again”. According to the civil servants “the sufferings, hardships and suppression been experienced by the public servants is the worst ever since the creation of Ogun State” According to Mrs Juliana Aderibigbe “the current government has no milk of kindness and is pathologically wicked to the workers in Ogun State”. She particularly bemoaned the partial salaries the governor has been paying  almost four years now which has rendered the working populace poorer and financially disorganized.

According to Mr Jubril Salisu a civil servant in Oke Mosan “ The Governor is a liar, dishonest, self centered and his actions are self-serving. How can a government be owing the poor civil servants 27 months deductions when he promised us at his swearing in ceremony in May 2019 that he will not owe workers salary. He has not kept to this promise and I wonder how we can trust him again for the next four years. This sufferings under Dapo Abiodun is unbearable and must be taken off the destinies of Ogun workers”

The position of Ogun Workers has proved right an exit poll conducted by a reputable national poll agency based in Abuja, Naijapoll Bureau on the 2023 governorship election in Ogun State. According to the poll 97% of Ogun Workers said “we are not satisfied with how Governor Dapo Abiodun has treated Ogun workers”. Reasons adduced in the polls for rejection of Dapo

Abiodun re-election bid include poor government-workers relationship, poor performance of the government despite huge resources, poor workers welfare, non-remittance of workers statutory funds deducted from their salaries, unpaid pension liabilities, rising debts of the state with nothing to show for loans obtained amongst others.

According to a top Labour leader in the state “Ogun State workers have decided to take their destinies to Almighty God when all human efforts to make governor show mercies to us have failed”. He further said “ Ogun governorship 2023  is about the life and survival of Ogun workers and indeed the current afflictions been experienced by Ogun workers in particular and Ogun people in general must not rise again according to Nahum in the Holy Bible”. The Labour leader further said “Ogun workers are clearly looking in different direction on who should be the  next governor of Ogun State. Ogun State needs a cerebral, savvy and honest person who have a actionable  blue print to take Ogun State to the next level”

Mr Sanni Bello from Ikene-Remo said “ it is sad that the present government of Dapo Abiodun has taken Ogun State backward by over 20 years with its lackluster performance in the last four years. It is evidently clear that he was not prepared for governance but was forced on the good people of Ogun State. According to him, this negative trend in Ogun State must be  reversed by voting for a serious minded, competent, altruistic and dynamic manager in the March 11th governorship election in Ogun State.
