"Pity Those Who Think They Can Intimidate Me, God Is Enough As my Source" Segun Showunmi

The factional gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun state, Otunba Segun Showunmi has told his political followers from all over the 236 wards in Ogun state not to pity him as no amount of money spent on his political structure will make him financially stranded.

He made this statement in Abeokuta today during a-day workshop held at Spices Event Hall, the programme which was facilitated by Otunba Segun Showunmi to further promote the candidacy of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and to sensitize party mobilizers and agents in readiness for the coming elections.

The PDP factional candidate told party faithfuls that there has never been a time that he solicited for funds from anyone, either through an organized fund-raising programmes or by proxy.

While answering questions from reporters whether the claims that his campaign is being funded by the incumbent Governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the former Spokesperson to Alhaji Abubakar expressed shock that people with enlightened mindset cannot be thinking that he is so poor that he cannot single-handedly shoulder his campaign.

In his remarks, he told the people that such blatant lie can only emanate from those suffering from complex, relating to the reporter, the ceremonial engagement displayed in Abuja when he picked his gubernatorial nomination form, Showunmi said that he got annoyed with the news of him not being able to afford the party form, and that he wanted to tear the form inorder to get another one to show those spreading lies that he is not in their class.

The Party stalwart assured his numerous followers to continue campaigning as they all have great responsibilities in the coming election to make sure that the Party Presidential flag bearer wins.

While listening to the yearnings of the people who chorously told Chief Segun Showunmi to go and get their mandate for them, he assured them that the matter is before the Supreme court and the only prayer expected from them is that God should prevail on the court to call the case with no further delay.

The event was graced by the leader of the Segun Showunmi's led faction Alhaji Sobayo, Chief Segun Alawode and other notable leaders from the three Senatorial districts.
