Gov Wike Should Shut Up, Atiku Seeks NIgerians Endorsement……… Dimeji Fabiyi

PRESS RELEASE!

It is understandable  the reason behind Wike’s vituperation, for making a mole hill out of a mountain about the insignificant Obasanjo’s endorsement of Peter Obi. Wike is yet to come to terms with the defeat he suffered at the Presidential Primaries to Atiku.

It is ridiculous to hear Wike making a mockery from an endorsement that holds no water, an endorsement that has received the biggest bad press in recent time.

It is appropriate to ask Gov Wike, if he got the endorsement of his boss, Rotimi Amaechi to be Governor. If not, the mockery by Wike is self defeating.

It lacks the merit of logic to take joy in Obasanjo’s empty endorsement.

Peter Obi should rather be weary because the endorsement is a total minus for him. President Obasanjo is a respectable statesman, but his endorsement of Labour Party’s Peter Obi is a disservice. The so-called endorsement is of no value whatsoever.

He should have remained the statesman he is. President Obasanjo can not claim to love the Igbos more than Atiku or any other Nigerian.

However, It is high time Mr. Wike keeps quiet and face the governance of the state for the rest of the five months of his tenure.

Atiku Abubakar,  the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party knows those who have political capital and relevance when it comes to election and that is why he has taken his engagements and campaigns to the NIgerian people whose endorsements is the most needed and critical.

This endorsement is not in good faith and not in the overall interest of NIgerians. It’s a self serving endorsement. NIgerians prefer a bold and confident leader who will not be a puppet in the hands of anyone, and that is what they see in Atiku .

NIgerians are not ready to go back to the era of godfatherism that has been the bane of our political and democratic development.

Nigerian youths are also not foolish or naive.

They see Atiku as the candidate that has compassion and capacity to fight their battle; they know the candidate that has made a deal and promise of 40% of youth inclusion in his government. Likewise, Nigerians know the candidate who is youth friendly and trending . No former President should play mind game with NIgerian youths or insult their sensibilities.

Governor Wike should leave Atiku alone and face the task of how to deliver his puppet successor he is struggling to get into office.

Fabiyi is a member of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council and a Deputy Director.
