Ogun 2023: Paseda Vows to Stop Abiodun's Re-Election, Meets Various Groups Across 20LGs



A two-time governorship candidate in Ogun State, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has described the administration of governor Dapo Abidoun as "erroneous" and vowed to resist his re-election in the forthcoming polls.



This statement was made by Paseda on Monday while addressing various political groups and individuals, who have come to urged him to lead them to an opposition party under the aegis of "Paseda Movement" in his Omu-Ijebu country home.



In the event, Paseda said in his mother's tongue (Yoruba language) that, "Dapo Abiodun, the eleyi of Ogun state, oma-lule, eni to ba wa lori ijoko yii, ti ko ba kin se Eleyi of Ogun state olule, ki odide kio bo sita", meaning, "Dapo Abiodun, the 'this-one' of Ogun state must go, and anyone in this gathering that is not in support of Dapo Abiodun must go can take his or her leave".


In the meeting, leaders and members of the various groups across the 20 local government areas in the state pleaded to the Omu-Ijebu born to lead them to any opposition party of his choice, noting that they can no longer endure the pains of Dapo Abidoun's led APC administration.


Even as hundreds of his political supporters called upon him to declare to them, the next party to align with, Paseda said, "consultation is in top gear", while promising to announce the next party as soon he is done consolidating with elder statesmen and political gladiators in the state and at the national level.


The group further commended the 'Awoist' for his steadfastness and humanity, adding that they have been working with him politically since 2015 when he was the governorship candidate of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN), before he later proceeded to Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 2019.


Some of those groups, stakeholders, leaders, statisticians and individuals that attended and spoke at the meeting included, Hausa Community, OPC Reformed Group, Paseda Political Ambassadors, Omu Youth Association, House of Rep. Candidate, Hon. Shaba John Ategbedekare, Danmaji Hausa, Sakariyau Musa, Otunba (Chief) Oloolu Adenaike, Hon. Olusola Oyapidan, Muhammed Garba Seriki, Prince Adedoyin Mayowa, Engr. Babatunde Folarin, Mrs Azeezat Kogbodoku and others.
