OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT PLEDGES SUPPORT TO SCOUTING DEVELOPMENT IN SCHOOLS ~ Abamiedaablog.
The Ogun State says it will continue to provide enabling environment for scouting activites in schools across the state.
This is because scouting as a voluntary youth organisation provide leadership and citizenship training as well as value orientation for the young people.
The commissioner2 in the Ogun State universal basic education board (SUBEB), Mr. Isiaka Aderohunmu said this at the opening ceremony of a three day workshop for members of Ogun State scout concil training TEAM held at BK INTERNATIONAL HOTEL held at idi iroko, Ipokia Local Government. According to Mr Aderohunmu SUBEB as the coordinating institution for primary and junior secondary school will be willing and ready to support requirement of students as scouts within the school system in a goodwill message. The chief Commissioner, Scout association of Nigeria, Mr Dave Awunah represented by the national headquarters commissioner SDG Mr Bamidele akinsanya commended the leadership of the Ogun State Scout Council for quality scouting programme and urge the trainers to utilize their new learning for the service of the boys and girls scouts in their custody.
Earlier in his welcome address,the State Scout Training Commissioner, Prince Bisi Enitan noted that the workshop is aimed at improving the capacity of members of the Ogun State training team and shart a course of action for the implementation of the 2022 training programme.
Also speaking,the lead facilitator of the workshop and former assistant chief commissioner of the scout association of Nigeria, Apostle Tola Adenekan stressed the importance need for strategic resource mobilization and efficient financial management to support the movement in the realization of his goal of creating a better world.
On his part,the State Scout Commissioner Eng. A. O. Leigh expressed appreciation for members of the training team drawn from the 5 provinces of the State; Egba, Yewa,Awori, Remo, Ijebu, for sacrificing time, energy and resources to attend the workshop.
