The Assistant Commissioner of Police in Charge of Adatan Area Command ACP UDUAK O. ITA has called on the security agencies and Stakeholders to rise up to their responsibility in the fight against crimes in Adatan Area Command and Ogun State in general and that there must be end to violence against women in our Communities.


ACP UDUAK O. ITA made the calls on Thursday 8th December at the quarterly Security Stakeholders Meeting and a day marked to end sexual and gender base violence against women, held at the Adatan Area Command Police Headquarters, Adatan, Abeokuta the ogun state capital.


In her speech, ACP UDUAK O. ITA said motivation for the compendium was derived from major concern from the cascading morality in the society with assorted nauseating manifestations of Activism against Sexual and Gender base violence in our Community


The Stakeholders Meeting which includes all the Divisional Police Officers under Adatan Area Command, PCRC Members from Adatan Area Command led by Hon. Taiwo Akinlabi Represented by the Deputy Chairman Engr. Adesanya, So-safe Corps, VGN, Civil Defence, VIO as well as CDA leaders under Adatan Area Command promised to takes all responsibility in the fight against crimes that Adatan Area Command and Ogun State will be a better place for all.


She said if we really want to conquer the challenges, everyone needs to take personal responsibility, that means we still have a lot to do to tackle the problem of crimes tha this is part of what initialed this compendium and she look forward to see the Divisional Police Officers DPO to engage other Stakeholders in their various Divisional Headquarters to critically look at the issues raised in the compendium and bring out their feedback to her table.


The day of activism against Sexual and gender base violence is started every 26th November and end on the 10th December every year to end the violence against women. Everyone must act in comfermiting in ending gender-base violence in our community and we must all speak in voice for our women, said ACP ITA.


At the end, she urged all stakeholders to continue their support to the Nigerian Police because Nigerian Police is responding to cases of violence against women and Nigerian Police are ready to presicute but the judiciary too must act fast when such cases come up.


She commended the Police Community Relations Committee PCRC Adatan Area Command, the Divisional Police Officers DPO undr Adatan Area Command and other Security Sisters for leaving in an environment that is crime free that she is proud of them and she promised to carry out her duty delegently to make Adatan Area Command better among others.
