1ST ALAWO-ERIN EGBA COMMEMORATION BEGINS WITH INAUGURATION OF HIGH PROFILE COMMITTEE.
The commemoration of Installation of the first Alawo Erin of Egbaland has commenced today in Abeokuta with the inauguration of a 13-member high profile personality Planning Committee, chaired by a son of the soil, a Socialite and business tycoon in both Lagos and Ogun States, Chief Adeyemi Adelani who is also a Chieftain of Ogun State All Progressive Congress.
Other members of the first Alawo-Erin of Egbaland Planning Committee are:-
Hon. Adijat Adeleye, the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Women Affairs and former House of Assembly member,
Hon. Laja Majekodunmi, Executive Chairman, Abeokuta South LGA,
Hon. Ayomide Michael Somide, a former Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government,
Hon. Tobi Doregoes, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Housing,
ESV Wale Ojo, the General Manager, Ogun State Housing Corporation,
Hon. Tinuke Bello, the Chief Whip of Ogun State House of Assembly,
Hon. Eruobodo Mustapha, former Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government,
Hon. Femi Ilori, Permanent member, Ogun SUBEB,
Dr. Kafayat Lawal, the Registrar/Executive Secretary, Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board,
Mrs . Aminat Salami, Special Adviser to the Commissioner for Women Affairs, and Mr. Lekan Kilani.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Chief Yemi Adelani explained that Chieftaincy title is one of the Strategic means of developing a community and also used mostly to honour those that had given back to the people and community in order to encourage them do more. He reiterated that Alawo Erin has done more than lips could pronounce to humanity at large and that is why they have come together to support him.
He noted that Alawoerin has contributed a lot to the development of Egbaland and his home community at large and is going to do more with the Chieftaincy title conferred on him, especially after his confirmation ceremony.
Chief Adelani appreciated Kabiesi Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo for the recognition and appreciated the contributions of Dr. Olaleye to the development of Gbagura and Egbaland in general.
In his remarks during the maiden meeting, Balogun (Dr.) Nurudeen Olaleye appreciated all the members and affirmed that they were all carefully selected based on their personalities, performance at the various successful Programme that they have handled in the past.
