OLUMIDE ADERINOKUN CONDEMNS HIGH RATE OF KIDNAPPING UNDER ABIODUN’S WATCH.

Ogun-born philanthropist and real estate mogul, Chief Olumide Aderinokun has held Governor Dapo Abiodun responsible for the high rate of kidnappings and insecurity in the state.

Due to the increasing spate of kidnappings in Ogun State, the state chapters of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives and the Nigerian Medical Association have embarked on strike which consequently leaves people in dire need of urgent health check-ups with no option.

“Ogun state government can do better. Where is the recently launched Amotekun? Are they not funded with the state resources so why are they nowhere to be found,” Chief Aderinokun said.

“Ogun State people deserve better than this, they should be able to sleep with their two eyes closed after enduring their daily struggles without basic amenities.”

Last month, two female students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University in the Ayetoro campus were kidnapped but they were eventually freed after spending two nights in the kidnappers' den.

Last Wednesday, a medical doctor and a nurse were kidnapped along Abeokuta-Imeko Road, even though they were released the kidnapping reports did not stop as another dental therapist working at the General Hospital in Ijebu Igbo was abducted this Monday.

The APC-led federal government has shown incompetence in securing lives and properties across Nigeria but it should not be so in the Gateway State and Chief Aderinokun has called on the Dapo Abiodun government to stop playing politics with residents’ safety.

The 49-year-old who is renowned for his philanthropic gesture in Ogun State Central through his foundation - Olumide and Stephanie Aderinokun Foundation, advised the government to train strong anti-kidnapping agents, and also create more jobs.
