OGUN LG POLL: Aderinokun Demands Free & Fair Election

Following the release of time table for the local government election by Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), a philanthropist and Egba born politician, Chief Olumide Aderinokun has called upon Gov. Dapo Abiodun and OGSIEC to follow the rules guiding the  local government election and allow the people of Ogun State have a free, fair and legitimate election.

Aderinokun made the call on Friday in a release signed by his media aide, Taye Taiwo and made available to newsmen.

"The people of Ogun State do not just expect free and fair local government election,  they deserve free and fair election.

"For the election to be credible, Gov. Dapo Abiodun and OGSIEC must ensure legal votes are counted. The will of the electorate must not be subverted.

"Local Goverment administration has suffered greatly in Ogun State. The politicians have hijacked the process of electing councillors and chairmen. They have turned the process to "selection and not election."  It is now a matter of "who you know."

"Those at the helms of affairs in OGSIEC must be upright and allow level playing ground. Fairness should be the name of the game, " the statement reads.

Mr.  Babatunde Osibodu-led OGSIEC on Thursday released time table for the local government election.

The election will hold on Saturday 31st of July,  2021.
