Prof. Tahir Mamman Should Apologise to Nigerians for the Misery APC Government imposes on the People.

 PRESS RELEASE

The attention of All Atiku Support Group has been drawn to a statement by the APC National Vice Chairman (North East), Prof. Tahir Mamman in which he called on the former Vice President to abandon his presidential ambition.

Mamman, who was quoted in a section of the media, had no business advising Atiku Abubakar or anyone else in the opposition party to abandon his presidential ambition, more so because it's not within the right of Mamman to decide for PDP or interfere in its internal affairs.

Besides, Atiku didn't discuss his future political plans with Mamman and therefore he had no right to meddle in the affairs of the PDP. As far as Atiku is concerned, only God knows the future and so it's too early to start talking about ambition at this point.

If Mamman is sincere, he should be apologizing to Nigerians for the incalculable misery imposed on their lives by the APC administration instead of talking about Atiku's ambition.

The Buhari administration has aggravated and accelerated poverty so much that Nigeria has won the notorious distinction as the poverty capital of the world.

Instead of worrying about Atiku's ambition, Prof. Mamman should apologise to Nigerians for the current frightening level of poverty and joblessness in the country.

The recent protests went beyond anger against the police; it merely revealed the undercurrents of frustrations and disillusionment of our youths who are victims of poor governance under the most incompetent government in Nigeria's political history. These are the issues that should worry Prof. Mamman instead of using Atiku's name to divert attention from the colossal failure of the so-called Buhari alternative.

Under the APC administration, our economy is groaning under the weight of heavy foreign debts which endangers our future. The Buhari administration has destroyed the efforts of former President Obasanjo to extricate Nigeria from the shackles of foreign debts. We are dealing with a government that is good at sharing money instead of creating wealth and dragging the country into massive debt burden. Prof. Mamman should advise the President to throw in the towel in the face of these miseries and and disgraceful failures.

Buhari's second term is the continuation of poverty and hopeless future for Nigerians. A government that pretends to love the masses couldn't have increased fuel price to N170 per litre; a government that pretends to love the masses could not allow basic food stuff to be out of the reach of the ordinary Nigerians. Today, a bag of local rice is sold between N28,000 and N30,000. When is bag of rice is higher than the value of the national minimum wage, what more evidence do you need that the APC has lost the plot? Prof. Mamman should apologise to Nigerians for these failures instead of using Atiku's name to divert the attention of Nigerians from their hopeless situation and miserable living conditions.

The APC administration is a fraud from the start. It only wanted power for its own sake. Nigerians are dying like flies because of insecurity. Farmers now pay protection fees to bandits in order to harvest their crops. Families of kidnap victims have to sell their property to pay ransom or their loved ones might get killed. It's disgraceful that bandits could kidnap 12 police officers and their families had to pay ransom for their freedom. These are the issues that should worry Prof. Mamman instead of diverting our attention from the failures of the APC administration by talking about Atiku's ambition.

The Buhari administration has brought competence to ground zero. No administration in our recent history tolerated incompetence and mediocrity like the Buhari led APC government. The country is now suffering the consequences of this competence deficit as reflected in insecurity, poor economic management and dividing the people. Nigerians are now more divided than at any other time in our recent history. Is Atiku's ambition responsible for the current despair and disillusionment in the country?

The Buhari administration has been demystified. All its policies are anti-people. It used Identity politics to gain power and the very people that voted for them are now left with a buyer's remorse. The loudest critics of Buhari today were his former fanatical supporters because they have seen the light. The scales have dropped from their eyes.

Nigerians are worse off today than they were before 2015. Taxi drivers used to buy used car engine for N50,000 during Jonathan, but today a second hand car engine sells at N150,000. Barbers used to buy 'I pass my neighbour' generator at N12,000 before 2015, but today they buy it at N45,000.

Prof. Mamman should be ashamed of this epic record of failures by APC instead of talking about Atiku's ambition. Poor Nigerians who are economically gasping for breath are not bothered about Atiku's ambition; they are bothered about a government that deceived them and betrayed them.

President Buhari has refused to sign the Electoral Act on electronic voting passed by the Saraki led Senate, alleging that Saraki and PDP wanted to rig the election. APC hates electronic voting because it makes rigging difficult. Saraki is no longer there. Why has Buhari refused to support electronic voting if he believes in protecting our electoral integrity? They are refusing to support electronic voting because they are bent on repeating the 2019 election charade. Prof. Mamman should forget about Atiku's ambition and apologise to Nigerians for the colossal and disastrous failures of the APC administration.
