World Teacher's Day: A Teacher is like a Candle - Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu

The Assistant General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu has described Nigerian teachers as candles that consume themselves to light the way for others. There is no contention about the positive contributions of teachers to human capital development globally.

In a congratulatory message signed and released from his media office in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, ABS said teachers turnout engineers, filmmakers, writers, astronauts, architects, lawyers, doctors, entrepreneurs, amongst others. It means without teachers, the world would not have great leaders and heroes who make our planet a better place for all.

Although every October 5th is World Teacher's Day, set aside to celebrate teachers' contributions to global development annually by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the commemoration instils in us the need to appreciate these unsung heroes and nation builders.

He then commended some State Governments in Nigeria that have been celebrating teachers yearly on occasions like this.

"Teachers, I believe, are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affect the fate of the world", ABS said
