WORLD TEACHERS DAY: OGININ CELEBRATES WITH NIGERIAN TEACHERS

A Chieftain of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Yewa South local Government, Mrs Olufunmilayo Irede Oginin has joined other Eminent Nigerian leaders to celebrate with the Nigerian Union of Teachers across the world.

Mrs Oginin said world Teachers Day is Celebrated annually on October 5th. It is a day to celebrate the role of all educators, including teachers, Researchers and Professional, this day has been celebrated since 1994 to commemorate the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO recommendation concerning the status of Teachers.

It is quite pathetic today that teachers are not respected for their sacrificial role of burning like a candle while impacting knowledge on others to attain success. If we consider what they go through on daily basis in the local communities and hinterlands of most developing countries, particularly in sub-Sahara Africa, one will but be touched to decry the contempt teaching professional is subjected to. Oginin said

Signed

Mrs Olufunmilayo Oginin
