As We Celebrate this Unusual Eid, We Must Ponder and Reflect on Life, Segun Showunmi.

EID MUBARAK TO ALL MUSLIMS

Happy Sallah to the Muslim Ummah. Despite the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, we have faith in Allah and thank Him that He has healed the world. “Anyone who is grateful does so to the profit of his own soul…” (Q31:12).

Understanding the seasons in the affairs of individuals and nations is easy for the discerning, who can claim to understand the activities that occur in God's creation.

As we celebrate this unusual Eid, we must ponder and reflect on life, our roles and responsibilities. Indeed, we should embrace factors that make things easier for our fellow humans - peace, harmony and compassion.

We should be guided by the example that has been set for us by the past masters, especially for the Muslims, the teachings and habit of the prophet of Islam (PBUH), who was concerned with the wellbeing of humanity in harmony with The Creator.

I suppose our vulnerability is manifest to us, given how long this invisible but virulent virus has disrupted all our lives. In all, we must thank Allah that all of humanity has not been consumed, notwithstanding the huge casualties.
It could have been worse.

I truly believe that our God will have mercy on His creation and we all will smile again. Our economy will pick up and the fellowship we enjoy with one and other will be back.

May Allah SWT heal the world and cause us to smile again.

EID MUBARAK!
